Dealing with Anxiety Through Scripture

Anxiety is a real condition that individuals experience—and it is real. It can cause anxiousness, overthinking, and worry. Fear, worry, or uncertainty can range from minor to serious.

Everyone has anxiety from time to time—for example, before a test, a major choice, or a job interview—but for some, it becomes chronic and overwhelming. In small doses, anxiety can help you stay attentive and focused, and even motivate you to act. However, when it is persistent, severe, or interferes with daily life, it may be a sign of an anxiety disorder—which can be treated with therapy, lifestyle changes, and, in some cases, medication.

Anxiety, Stress, and Fear

These feelings are genuine. However, the good news is that they can be eliminated through Jesus Christ. You can overcome these emotions by relying on God's word and promises. Isaiah 41:10 (ESV) "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Matthew 6:34 (NIV)

"Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself"

"Each day has enough trouble of its own"

1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."

Psalm 94:19 (NLT)

"When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy."Too much anxiety can destroy your life the good news is that it can be managed with the right support and strategies.
