This topic is very important because changes you in so many ways, it can change you. Psychologically, physically and mentally. People nowadays are too busy with their daily life and have no time for doing physical exercise and lack of concerning about their health and because of that they seem to not understand how important it is to exercise to be fit.
Health problem occurs in society due to the lack of exercise. When you exercise you get to boost your immune system. Boosting your immune system helps you fight a lot of sickness, infections and reduces the chances of getting sick. There’s an article written by Daniel Preiato that talks about The Mental Health Benefits of Exercising. In his article he speaks about 2021 study involving secondary students found that physical activity could increase self-compassion and overall mental well-being.
Exercising on home fitness equipment is ideal for people who are housebound such as parents of small children or for those who don’t wish to exercise outdoors or in gyms. People can also exercise while watching television or listening to music if they want to. Another activity could be running, swimming, team sports, and walking where each of the activity providing the different advantages or benefits for those who do the activities

When talking about health I’m referring to different aspects of health. Physical wellbeing, Emotional wellbeing, spiritual, environmental wellbeing etc. Physical holistic health keeps your body healthy, strong supporting your immune system and reduces the risk of catching sickness and diseases easy. Emotionally, it supports personal growth and self-discovery, helping you become more of your feelings and how you manage them keeping them healthy. Environmentally, holistic health helps you create a relationship with your community, living in a clean environment, it also keeps the environment safe.
WHY THIS TOPIC
I chose this topic because people in Khayelitsha need to understand how essential it is to care for their entire selves, not just one portion. This radio station focusses on wellness, connection, and spirituality. However, health should be considered holistically rather than only spiritually. It is pointless to focus just on emotional or spiritual health while ignoring the physical or environmental aspects that influence our emotions and everyday life. Many of us problems — stress, disease, even community challenges — can be better managed if we start taking care of our health in all aspects. That is why we must promote awareness in our neighbourhood. Khayelitsha residents deserve to know that their well-being is important — emotionally, physically, spiritually, and environmentally. When we take care of all these aspects, we may live more fulfilling, healthier, and empowered lives.
